My name is Robert Runchey, sole proprietor of American Home Consultants, LLC. My experience in the residential home market dates back to the 1980’s. Since then I have purchased five homes and performed most of the remodeling myself. I have joined local and national professional organizations to stay on top of the many changes within the industry and to better serve the customers that hire me. My affiliations include: International & National Association of Certified Home Inspectors and the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors. I choose to be to be a “certified home inspector.” I retain my certification each year by taking and passing a variety of tests for: Electrical Systems, Foundations, Exterior Cladding, Plumbing, Roofing, HVAC (Heating Venting Air Conditioning), and grading/landscaping.

My educational background consists of architectural & mechanical design. Having lived in Chicago for many years, I admired the works of Frank Lloyd Wright. My work took me through mechanical drawing and I worked my way through the computer coursework and a variety of CADD programs. I studied and completed my Inspection coursework through Allied Business School in California. I am happy to be the sole proprietor of my own business as it allows me to provide my customers with the individual attention one would expect and deserve from an honest home inspection.
